To the extreme southwest is Cornwall with its rugged coastline, sandy beaches and quaint fishing villages. The beauty of the Lake District is something not to be missed. Here the scenery has been sculpted by glaciers and is a popular destination for walkers and watersport enthusiasts. The Yorkshire Dales is also a popular walkers destination with its picturesque river valleys and the hills.
