Whether it is Caerphilly Castle, Raglan or Chepstow Castle they are all worth a visit. Located in South Wales the beautifully appointed Caerphilly Castle was originally built in the 13th century by Gilbert de Clare. It is the second largest Castle in the UK. With its turrets and strong walls it has all the romance of a Medieval castle and provides all the activities which make a great family day out.
Angelsey is a large island off the north coast of Wales. It was a place of spiritual significance to the Celts and the last stronghold of the Druids; who were driven from the rest of Wales by the Roman army in the first century AD. The island's history goes back even further, as it contains many Neolithic chamber tombs and ancient monuments including Bodowyr Burial Chamber with its delicately balanced pyramidal capstone.
More recently there are interesting buildings to see on Angelsey such as Plas Newydd, an elegant National Trust mansion and Beaumaris Castle which is a World Heritage site. Angelsey has miles of lovely beaches and coastal paths and is a popular tourist attraction.
For those interested in books, Hay-on-Wye is a mecca for book collectors and visitors alike. In the 1960’s Richard Booth started the trend that eventually established Hay-on-Wye as the largest second hand and antiquarian book centre in the world. In May and June the town hosts a book major book festival which attracts thousands of visitors and many famous international authors. During the rest of the year Hay-on-Wye plays host to a variety of music events from Early, Chamber Music, and Modern Music.

Wales is famous for its natural beauty. The country is full of mountains, valleys and sandy beaches. Areas such as the Pembrokshire coast are great for costal walks, swimming and water sports . There are several National Parks in Wales which are ideal for walking, climbing and water activities.

It covers 823 miles and is home to working communities of 26,000 people, half of whom are Welsh speakers. English is also spoken and the area benefits from visitors.
Snowdonia contains picturesque villages and small medieval towns such as Betws y Coed and Dolgella. The villages and towns provide a variety of accommodation, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Getting to the top of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, is fairly a 6 to 8 hour climb. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience there is a train. Both ways ensure a fabulous view looking across the park and beyond.
