We will also get great views of Buckingham Palace (where I will be more than happy to be your photographer if you want me to), and of other royal residences, such as Clarence House (where HRH Charles, Prince of Wales lives) and St James’s Palace.

Itinerary so far...
A lovely, relaxed day out in the heart of Royal London and the West End of London.
As for every one of my private tours, I will be meeting you directly at your hotel or other accommodation in the morning. We will then make our way to see one of the most popular spectacles in London: the Changing of the Guard**. Not only will we see the guards, I will take you to the best spots to truly understand the whole ceremony — and rather than waiting for them in front of the Palace, we will be walking with the guards and following their troop movements! This will take us through some of the most famous Royal Parks in central London, St James’s Park and Green Park.
We will then continue our walk through Royal London all the way to the Palace of Westminster and I will give you a guided tour of Westminster Abbey, our coronation church and final resting place of over 3300 people, from royals to poets, from musicians to scientists. It truly is a fascinating place, full of stories and history. An absolute must see in London.
By the time we come out of the Abbey you will be starving! So we will stop for lunch*** then go on to discover the political heart of London: Westminster and Whitehall. From old plots to current affairs, we will be walking past some of the most famous and important buildings in the UK such as the Palace of Westminster (with the world-renowned "Big Ben”) and 10 Downing Street (where the Prime Minister lives) and I will tell you stories and legends of Whitehall along the way. This will take us to Trafalgar Square, literally the centre of London and equally full of exciting tales, history (and art), then through to Covent Garden.
Contrasting sharply with the royal and political heart of London, nearby Covent Garden is a sparkling mix of theatres and luxury boutiques, known for its street performers and its magicians, and home to the Royal Opera House.
That area is full of secret alleyways, independent cafes, quirky street furniture, theatrical history, which I will pick and choose from to tweak the tour to your interests and your mood of the moment. Finally, depending on what we have agreed on, I will take you wherever you need to go next, or simply leave you in town with a few recommendations on restaurants or bars for you to enjoy the rest of your day...
*This is a sample route, I will of course adapt the tour to your own personal needs and interests.
**Please be aware that The Changing of the Guard is a military ceremony, subject to potential changes in date & time, and occasional cancellations (announced on the morning of the ceremony in case of very bad weather). Depending on the date, we will be seeing either the Foot Guards or the Horse Guards.
***The cost of lunch is not included in the tour but I can arrange to pre-book a table for the group at a convenient pub or restaurant.
