London is a very green city. It is said that 47% of London is green space, if one adds together every park, every square and every private garden. So if you fancy a break from the hustle bustle of the city centre, go explore one of its parks. There are 10 [Royal Parks/] in London, each one a real gem to explore. Right by the Houses of Parliament, in central London, you will find Victoria Tower Gardens, home to many memorials celebrating freedom. Not far from there, just a few steps away from Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace, you will find St James's Park, Green Park, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. In fact, if you walked through those 4, they would take you to South Kensington, another part of London entirely, home to the V&A, the Science Museum, the Museum of Natural History and to the Royal Albert Hall.

Slightly further North, you will find the stunning Regent's Park, home to the London Zoo. And in the South West you can explore the Brompton Cemetery, one of the most spectacular cemeteries in the UK.

Other Royal Parks, although slightly further out, are also worth a visit. Continuing in a south-westerly direction you will find two stunning, very large parks, both of which host herds of deer. Richmond Park first and, if you keep going towards Hampton Court Palace, Bushy Park.

Finally, if your visits take you East, make sure to have a walk in the lovely Greenwich Park, a beautiful green space, full of history. And, as it is set on a hill overlooking the Thames, it provides stunning views.
